Electrical Training Officer/Assessor Opportunity

Educated Appointments is delighted to be assisting a reputable client in Birmingham to recruit an Electrical Training Officer/Assessor within Apprenticeships.

The provider, a graded GOOD provider by Ofsted, is seeking applicants with top-notch Electrical Installation experience and qualifications to assist Apprentices undergoing Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships.

This role is ideal for experienced and qualified assessors or those with experience on the tools looking to become an Apprenticeship Assessor.

The company trains circa 400 electrical apprentices with around 180 local and national electrical contractors. The Training Officers/Assessors play a vital part in apprenticeship delivery, working with apprentices to complete their NVQ portfolio, assessing evidence, and reviewing them regularly.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting Apprentices with building NVQ portfolios.
  2. Assessing Apprentices' evidence and electrical work in the workplace.
  3. Undertaking progress reviews with apprentices every 10-12 weeks.
  4. Working with employers and supporting successful training of their apprentices.
  5. Visiting sites UK-wide to undertake reviews and assessments.
  6. Undertaking assessments at the client's Birmingham Training Centre.
  7. Assessing practical work.

Desired skills and experience include:

  1. Previous experience as an Electrical Training Officer or Assessor (D32/D33, A1, or TAQA/CAVA) or a qualified electrician looking for a change of direction.
  2. Qualifications in Health & Safety and NVQ Assessment (IOSH Managing Safety).
  3. City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation/Level 3 NVQ Apprenticeship.
  4. AM2.
  5. Ideally, 18th Edition of Level 3 Test & Inspection Qualification.
