Job Title: Multi Skilled Operative

VGC Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in Norwich.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile individual to perform a wide range of construction tasks, including groundworks, concrete finishing, plant operations, carpentry, and steel fixing. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repair work on buildings, infrastructure, and equipment, as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in various systems and performing necessary repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of construction tasks, including groundworks, concrete finishing, plant operations, carpentry, and steel fixing.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repair work on buildings, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in various systems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that all work is completed to the required quality standards and in compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on completed tasks and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Maintain a high level of workmanship in all tasks.
  • Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials needed for various tasks.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and minimise waste.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and other trades to coordinate tasks.
  • Assist other trades and operatives as needed to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
  • 2 years + experience in a similar role.
  • Blue CSCS NVQ LVL 2 Groundworker Card.
  • CPCS Plant ticket.
