Special Needs Educational Assistant
Location: Primary School, Wokingham
Contract Type: Part-time/Full-time (dependent on candidate availability)
Salary: £20-£25 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Educational Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Our client school is a warm and inclusive primary school in Wokingham, dedicated to ensuring every child receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive.

The Role

In this role, you will work closely with a child who requires additional support to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence in their abilities.

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Support the pupil's participation in classroom activities, promoting engagement and independence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement and monitor the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil to foster trust and encouragement.
Key Requirements

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential).
  • Be adaptable and creative in finding ways to engage and support the child's learning and development.
