Job Description: Mechanical Engineer Supervisor

Kelston Sparkes is seeking an exceptional Mechanical Engineer Supervisor to join our team. This exciting opportunity will involve leading a team of engineers in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, ensuring seamless operations and high levels of safety and efficiency.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of mechanical engineers, overseeing maintenance and repair activities, and mentoring junior staff members. You will also be required to communicate effectively with management and onsite teams to resolve breakdowns and ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair Coordination: Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of maintenance activities.
  • Team Management: Supervise a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their growth and development.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues efficiently, using manufacturers' diagnostic equipment and expert knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with management and onsite teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve breakdowns promptly.
Requirements
  • Education: NVQ level 3 plant maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, aftertreatment systems, and IT literacy.
  • Experience: Proven experience in plant maintenance, quarry operations, and team leadership.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement.
