Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our management team at our midlands-based demolition company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks, including negotiating contracts, breaking down estimates, and preparing applications for payment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues and become a valued and senior member of our department. You will have the chance to work on a variety of projects, including demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects.

We are looking for someone with a professional qualification or experience in quantity surveying, as well as exceptional written and spoken English skills. If you have a self-motivated personality, attention to detail, and strong organisational and time management skills, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Negotiating contracts and agreements.
  2. Breaking down estimates into cost budgets.
  3. Tendering and procuring subcontract and supplier packages.
  4. Preparing and issuing applications for payment.
  5. Liaising with accounts departments.
  6. Assessing and approving subcontract applications.
  7. Valuing variations and compensation events.
  8. Preparing notifications of delay and petitions.
  9. Preparing and updating project programmes.
  10. Working with site teams to create cost-value-forecasts.
  11. Completing cost-value reconciliation reports.
  12. Advising operations teams on cost implications and commercial risks.
