At Insight Investment, we're seeking a seasoned Data Platform Architect to spearhead the development of our strategic data platform. This visionary will leverage our data assets to drive business growth, elevate decision-making, and streamline processes.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Azure Databricks, Python, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. They will collaborate with Agile teams to deliver solutions, aligning technical designs with internal data, privacy, security, and compliance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a robust and scalable data platform using Azure Databricks and complementary tooling.
  • Contribute to and evolve the Insight Data Strategy, communicating outcomes at an executive level.
  • Establish firm-wide standards and conventions for data ingestion, governance, transformation, persistence, and democratization.
  • Enable the adoption of advanced analytics and AI by configuring best-in-class tooling.
  • Elevate the usage of infrastructure-as-code in collaboration with cloud engineering.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to Databricks and big data processing.

Requirements:

  • Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Apache Spark, Structured Streaming)
  • Python3
  • Terraform in Azure
  • Integration with Collibra
  • Integration with Snowflake
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / TeamCity / Artifactory)
  • Demonstrate initiative and independence to solve problems.
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Stand by software engineering principles around quality and doing things the right way.
  • Collaborate with end users, stakeholders, teams, and team members.
  • Have a constant desire to improve knowledge and drive adoption of new tech or approaches within the teams.
  • Own mistakes and work with colleagues to redress them, learn from them, and make improvements for the long-term.
