As a Junior Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the various phases of project development, preparing essential procedures, and compiling reports to ensure the smooth progression and efficiency of each initiative.
Your collaboration with Project Engineers will be crucial, as you will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial proposals to operational execution. There will be an expectation to visit client sites, both onshore and offshore.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the technical setup and operational execution of projects.
- Aid in the preparation and correspondence of construction and environmental methodologies, along with other necessary documentation (e.g., contracts).
- Support investigations as required.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications, calculations, and designs for CAD documentation.
- Help interpret customer technical specifications, addressing all technical and commercial aspects of projects.
- Assist in the design and documentation of civil and structural components.
- Evaluate, organize, and prioritize tasks within the overall project timeline and client expectations.
- Participate in project meetings, contributing insights and taking notes as necessary.
- Manage progress monitoring mechanisms and report against project plans, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Aid in managing costs and schedules to ensure adherence to agreed budgets and timelines.
- Prepare daily progress reports while offshore (e.g., grouting, client interactions).
- Support the management of third-party contractors to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
- Assist in justifying contractual variations during projects to support subsequent commercial claims.
- Interpret client requirements, identifying design parameters and engineering challenges, ensuring effective solutions are implemented.
- Provide supervision for grouting operations, including mechanics and technicians both onshore and offshore.
- Assist in the management of subcontractor expeditions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MEng or BEng in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Basic training in Pro Engineer / CAD (desirable).
- Previous experience in an offshore organization (desirable).
- Must be adaptable and willing to travel.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to drive engineering projects to successful completion.
- Proficient in Microsoft and IT applications.
Compensation:
£32k base salary with an offshore allowance of up to £1505 per week.
PLEASE NOTE: No visa sponsorship is available; all candidates must already possess British citizenship or permanent right to work.
