About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Psychiatry, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with severe mental illness in Camden.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry, providing clinical leadership and expertise to the North Camden Recovery Team.
  • Assess and manage complex clinical cases involving severe and enduring mental illness and significant risk histories.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and case management options.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the North Camden Recovery & Rehabilitation Team and the division as a whole.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility) - qualifies to act as a Responsible Clinician.
  • Registered with Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing.
  • Shared Services training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Trained as an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training.
  • Training as a Consultant mentor.
  • Other relevant post-graduate qualification (incl. those gained outside UK).
  • Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
