About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our team at EMCOR UK. As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our client's facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean all areas of the school, including classrooms, activity areas, and toilets, to the required standards.
  • Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment, following site training and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Dilute and use cleaning products and materials as instructed, adhering to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Collect and remove waste and rubbish from classrooms, activity areas, and toilets, and dispose of it at the designated collection point.
  • Perform deep cleaning duties during school closure periods, including walls, doors, FFE, carpets, and polished floors.
  • Notify the Helpdesk or Premises Manager of any repair or maintenance work required for the safe and efficient operation of the school.
  • Observe and comply with all Health and Safety policies, COSHH, and other codes of practice for cleaning staff.
  • Assist in cleaning other areas as directed by the Helpdesk or Premises Managers in case of staffing shortfalls.
  • Carry out emergency cleaning duties as required due to accidents, sickness, or vandalism.
  • Comply with instructions relating to security and confidentiality.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience of workplace cleaning would be an advantage.
  • Good time keeping and attention to detail.
  • Experience of providing good customer service.
  • Methodical and meticulous approach to work.
  • Ability to read and speak English to ensure safe working practices are followed.
