About the Role

The Kitchen Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high-quality meals and dining experiences. This role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the basic preparation of food items under direction.
  • Ensure all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensure that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
  • A good standard of both verbal and written English.
  • Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience.
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
