Role Overview
Austin Fraser is seeking an ambitious and empathetic Youth Support Worker to join our team in Kettering. This ideal role for Criminology and Psychology graduates will enable you to make a positive impact on the lives of students aged 7-19 who have experienced significant trauma.

About the Role
This specialist provision prioritizes holistic and restorative practices, fostering empathy at every opportunity. The school focuses on non-punitive measures, utilizing manual handling training only when necessary. You will receive extensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA Training, ensuring the children's safety and well-being.

Your Responsibilities
As a Youth Support Worker, your key duties will include:

  1. Supporting secondary-aged students with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying levels of social anxiety.
  2. Engaging in physical work while ensuring academic progress tailored to each child's context.
  3. Adapting to some anti-social behavior as part of supporting vulnerable children, with all necessary training and support provided by the school.
  4. Implementing various therapies and holistic processes, recognizing that even small progress is a success.
  5. Working with students with Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
  6. Focusing on positive engagement, providing children with a sense of acceptance and employing diverse approaches.
  7. Setting objectives for students and promoting independence, especially for those in assisted living.

Salary and Benefits
