Senior Legal Counsel

Job Summary

Sky is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join our HR Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice on employment law issues, support the HR function, and contribute to the development of our legal strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employment law issues, including contentious and non-contentious matters, to support the HR function and business operations.
  
• Support the development of our legal strategy, working closely with the HR team and other stakeholders.
  
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver high-profile projects and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
  
• Coach and develop other team members, including supervising paralegals who conduct employment tribunal litigation.
  
• Manage the work of external counsel, promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 
  
• Extensive experience in UK employment law, ideally within a highly regarded law firm or equivalent in-house.
  
• Experience of managing large-scale restructuring projects and projects with cross-territory issues.
  
• Ability to effectively supervise on tribunal claims.
  
• Commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  
• A growth mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills and expertise.
