About the Job

We're seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at RECRUITMENTiQ Careers in Glenrothes, Scotland.

This is a mobile role that requires a strong background in mechanics and a full driving license to support operations across multiple sites.

About You

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the quarry, mining, or transport industry, although relevant mechanical expertise from other sectors will also be considered.

You'll be a self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance on plant equipment and HGVs to ensure they're safe and operational.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs in designated logbooks.
  • Stay up-to-date with new servicing and safety standards for equipment and vehicles.
  • Evaluate and verify the roadworthiness and safety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Hold a valid driver's license for operated vehicles.
  • Follow the Highway Code and notify management of any motoring convictions immediately.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanics, quarry, mining, or transport industry.
  • Diploma or equivalent in a relevant trade or subject.
  • Full UK driving license (with no more than 3 points).
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety procedures.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, based on experience. This salary reflects the importance of this role within our organization.
