Research Data Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Research Data Specialist to join our Data Services Team at YouGov. This is a unique opportunity to work on various research projects, including omnibus surveys, targeted research, and global studies.

This role requires excellent communication and time management skills, as you will be working closely with other teams, such as Insight, Account Management, and New Business, as well as directly with clients to deliver high-quality research results.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and run consumer/business omnibus surveys, targeted research projects, and global studies, with end-to-end project management.
  • Work directly with clients to design or refine questionnaires to ensure they align with objectives and demonstrate best research practice.
  • Monitor fieldwork and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Deliver results to clients and communicate effectively what the research shows, including taking clients through Crunch, our online data tool.
  • Review client materials (e.g., press releases, reports) to ensure results are accurately reported and stand up to scrutiny.

You will have support from senior researchers on larger/high-profile quantitative global projects, from inception to delivery. Additionally, you will work with senior researchers to maintain and grow our Omnibus and Targeted Research products.

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, flexible working hours, and a dynamic work environment.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Educated up to degree/HND level in a relevant subject.
  • An industry-recognised qualification is desirable (e.g., MRS Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice).
  • Quantitative research experience in a client-facing role.
  • Excellent client focus and handling skills.
  • Ability to deliver results, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, and electronic communication skills.
  • An understanding of statistics and quantitative analysis is desirable.
