About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pathologist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. This is a substantive appointment, based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in surgical cutup, surgical reporting, cytology reporting, ensuring delivery of high-quality histopathology, cytopathology services.
  • Advise and consult on clinical matters with colleagues, general practitioners, and Trust staff.
  • Contribute to training of Clinical fellows.
  • Manage laboratory staff, setting clinical priorities and resolving operational problems.
  • Lead laboratory staff on clinical matters, instructing and working with them in day-to-day handling of cases.
  • Participate in audit, accreditation, quality assurance schemes.
  • Work with colleagues on strategic clinical direction, development of pathology service.

What We Offer

A competitive salary between £85,000 - £108,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or eligible for registration within six months of interview
  • FRCPATH or equivalent qualification
