London, Greater London, United Kingdom Tower Hamlets Council for Voluntary Service Full time
Job Category: Public Health

As a dynamic and driven Community Health Champion Coordinator, you will play a key role in empowering local communities to promote key health messages and support residents in improving their wellbeing. Working closely with local partners and public health staff, you will be responsible for coordinating community volunteers to ensure the success of this new initiative.

You will work with volunteers from target communities most at risk of poor health outcomes, supporting them to be influential health connectors. Through ongoing training, regular communication, and peer-to-peer health promotion, you will create and sustain a network of empowered residents driving meaningful change in their communities.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all sections of the community, including those with low literacy and limited English. The ability to speak community languages (particularly Sylheti/Bengali) is desirable.

We are a Disability Confident Employer, which means applicants who declare a disability and meet the essential criteria for the post are guaranteed an interview.

This is a fixed term position for 3 years, offering a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of local people and contribute to the success of our Health and Wellbeing Champions Programme.
