We are seeking a dedicated and passionate BSL Teaching Assistant to join our team at Sanza Teaching Agency. As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students and teaching staff to facilitate effective communication and promote learning opportunities tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing British Sign Language (BSL) where necessary.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt and differentiate learning materials to accommodate the needs of sight-impaired students.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies to promote student progress and development.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to achieve their full potential.
- Liaise with external specialists and support services to ensure that students receive comprehensive and holistic support.
- Experience working with sight-impaired individuals, preferably within an educational setting.
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting student learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in BSL or special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
