Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Respiratory and Acute Medicine to join our team at University Hospital Lewisham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading ward rounds, and directing the management of patients on the Acute Medical Unit.
Main Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical care on the Acute Medical Unit, ACU, and SDEC.
- Lead ward rounds and direct the management of patients.
- Assess patients and perform practical procedures while teaching other staff.
- Attend MDT meetings and participate in educational and audit meetings.
- Meet CPD and revalidation requirements.
- Provide cover for Consultant colleagues during periods of leave.
- Support the Hospital's Clinical Governance Strategy.
- MBBS or equivalent.
- Full registration with the GMC and hold a license to practice MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
- To be on the GMC Specialist Register for Acute or General (Internal) Medicine or within six months of obtaining CCT on a UK training program or CESR at the time of interview.
- Distinctions, scholarships, prizes.
- Other degrees, e.g., BSc, MSc, MD.
- Leadership experience.
- Organisational ability.

The post is full-time, and the successful candidate will be expected to work a standard 37.5-hour week. The salary for this post is £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, depending on experience. The post also includes 10 PAs, which will be allocated according to the job plan.
