At Smith Institute, we are seeking a talented Digital Solutions Engineer Apprentice to join our team in Oxford. As a key member of our digital solutions team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of innovative projects for our clients.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical skills, including proficiency in computer hardware and software, operating systems, memory and storage, and cyber security. You should have a solid understanding of algorithms and programming, and be able to apply analytical and creative problem-solving skills to drive results.

In this role, you will work closely with project teams to design and develop cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will also use remote access tools to provide timely support to your colleagues and contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in mathematical modelling and data analysis, and have a strong understanding of business applications of mathematics. A keen interest in forecasting, algorithm design, risk modelling, optimisation, data analytics, and algorithm auditing is essential.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 good A-levels, including maths and computer science, or equivalent qualifications
  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in computer hardware and software, operating systems, memory and storage, and cyber security
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and programming
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in mathematical modelling and data analysis
