Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Thorpe Park Resort. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, including PLC control equipment, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our rides and attractions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including PLC control equipment, to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance routines to minimize downtime and maximize guest experience
  • Active troubleshooting and repair of control systems to minimize downtime and maximize guest experience
  • Support and mentor front-line engineering team in day-to-day reactive maintenance tasks and projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical systems meet safety and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with electrical systems, including PLC control equipment
  • Expert-level knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
  • Understanding of Cat 0, 1, and 2 emergency stop categories and their function in industrial controls environments
  • Experience with fieldbus network communications systems, including Ethernet IP, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, and Modbus TCP
  • Strong fault-finding skills in low-voltage control systems, AC and DC motors, and associated control equipment
