About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counselling Lecturer to join our team at the University Centre. As a Counselling Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to our students on the FdA and BA (hons) Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective teaching, learning, and assessment at undergraduate level across the FdA and BA (hons) Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes.
  • Support students completing these programmes, as well as being flexible and willing to teach on other programmes within the school.
  • Maintain and develop the curriculum to ensure relevance to Counselling and the wider links related industry organisations as required.
  • Engage with students using a variety of learning and teaching modes, including face-to-face and blended learning on full, part-time, and short courses.

Requirements:

  • UK Honours degree (or ENIC-NARIC recognised degree) in a relevant discipline and a PGCE or other teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one (to achieve within 2 years of appointment).
  • Postgraduate qualification at level 7 in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification (or willing to work towards).
  • Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent practice experience and a current practicing counsellor.
  • Strong awareness of contemporary developments within the Counselling Services Sector.
