Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Door and Roller Shutter Engineer to join our team at Teknical Talent. As a key member of our maintenance and repair team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing doors and roller shutters across a wide range of retail stores in the South East region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Assemble, install, test, and maintain door and roller shutters equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose door/component failure, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor, control, and deliver the company's KPI targets, ensuring that all works are managed and controlled in a cost-effective and efficient manner within Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Additional Work Opportunities: Determine and promote additional work opportunities to the surveying and estimating team.
  • Documentation and Certification: Ensure that all relevant documentation and certification is administered correctly and that Company and Client policies and procedures are adhered to correctly.
  • Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks, such as moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • Estimation and Planning: Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Tool Operation: Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Work at Heights: Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair roller shutters/sectional/personnel doors.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Excellent technical skills, including experience with high-speed doors, insulated sectional doors, and roller shutters.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills, with excellent client relationship skills.
  • Industry Experience: Service/callout/repairs & installations organisation experience in the door industry.
  • Certifications: CSCS Card & IPAF/PASMA essential, with a full clean driving license preferred.
  • Electrical and Automatic Door Experience: Electrical experience/knowledge and automatic door experience/knowledge an advantage.
Working Hours and Pay

Hours of work are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with a flexible approach and willingness to work in evenings and weekends on call-outs where/when required. Standard pay rate £12.00-£14.00 per hour, with overtime rate: time and a half after 40 hours.
