The General Teaching Council for Scotland is a regulatory body that plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of learning and teaching in Scotland. We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Investigations Officer to join our team.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team that is passionate about promoting excellence in education. As a Regulatory Investigations Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of fitness to teach casework, including investigations, case adjudication, decision-making, and officer support associated with fitness to teach hearings.
You will ensure that cases are investigated properly and determined fairly and lawfully, with reference to applicable policy, guidance, and any defined process. This role requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Salary
The annual salary for this role is estimated to be around £35,000, depending on location and experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree (SCQF level 9) or equivalent vocational or work-based training and a legal or investigation qualification.
- Experience in regulatory casework or equivalent.
- Able to demonstrate effective decision-making and provide advice.
- An excellent communicator with experience in building and maintaining effective working partnerships with external users and partners.
- High-quality written, research, analytical, influencing, and advocacy skills.

Working Hours / Pattern
