Job Title: Graduate Structural Engineer

Location: Gloucester

Salary: Up to £30,000

Job Overview:

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in Gloucester. As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse steel structure projects, including telecoms, rail, utilities, and radar.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and analysis of steel structures using leading engineering software.
  • Work on projects involving commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and senior engineers to ensure precise design and successful project delivery.
  • Conduct structural calculations, prepare technical drawings, and produce reports to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Participate in site visits to monitor steel construction projects, ensuring designs are implemented safely and effectively.
  • Support the preparation of technical documents, material take-offs, and project specifications.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with coursework or projects focused on steel structures is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software (STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of steel material properties, fabrication, and construction processes.
  • Internship or project experience in structural engineering, especially related to steel structures, is preferred.
