Role Overview

Fortus Recruitment Group is representing a local authority seeking a Repairs Surveyor to join their property services division. This position involves working on a newly won contract based in the Gloucester area. The successful candidate will report to the Complex Repairs Manager and be responsible for conducting surveys to properties within their specified region, including Damp Mould and Condensation inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose the cause of complex faults and failures and post-inspect works to support the local authority in delivering high-quality optimum works safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Assess and improve property standards, utilizing excellent knowledge of building construction standards and legislation.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and manage contractors effectively.
  • Deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face-to-face, or by telephone, with excellent customer care standards.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, housing, and property management systems.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • A good understanding of the context of social housing.
  • Education to Level 4 (HNC in Surveying or Construction & Built Environment or equivalent) or higher.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Level 4 VRQ Certificate in Managing Damp, Mould, and Customer Care in Housing.
  • RICS (Building Surveying) or MCIOB membership.
