About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Manager to join our Outpatient Services team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and driving service improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Outpatient Service Manager in the operational delivery and clinical governance of the administration side of the Outpatient Services.
  • Lead transformational change within one of our specialized areas of the Outpatient Department, including Health Records, Access to Records, Reception, and the Patient Service Centre.
  • Assist in the patients' journey within the Outpatient Service, from booking appointments to retrieving healthcare records and booking patients in at reception.
  • Listen to patient and staff feedback to deliver an excellent outpatient experience.
Requirements
  • 2 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Demonstrated patient-focused approach and resolving user concerns effectively.
  • Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Ability to develop skills of the team and motivate staff.
  • Ability to influence, motivate staff, and persuasion skills.
  • Good leadership qualities and ability to work calmly under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative using sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support junior members of the team.
