Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse patient caseload, addressing a wide array of health concerns within a primary care environment, and ensuring exemplary care standards for all patients.
Key Clinical Responsibilities:
- Availability to perform various duties, including in-person consultations, telephonic consultations, and home visits, while addressing queries and managing paperwork efficiently.
- Making independent, professional decisions regarding patient issues, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.
- Evaluating the healthcare requirements of patients with undiagnosed and complex conditions.
- Conducting screenings for disease risk factors and early indicators of health issues.
- Formulating health care plans in collaboration with patients, adhering to current disease management protocols.
- Managing patient admissions and discharges, and referring to other healthcare providers as necessary.
- Documenting clear and accurate consultation notes in compliance with established standards.
- Gathering data for quality audits.
- Issuing computer-generated prescriptions for both acute and repeat medications.
- Prescribing medications in accordance with the practice's formulary when clinically appropriate.
- Overall, the role encompasses all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a General Practitioner in a primary care setting.
Additional Organizational Responsibilities:
- Understanding and adhering to all relevant practice policies and guidelines.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and quality audits to ensure evidence-based best practices.
- Participating in evaluation and clinical standard setting within the organization.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of electronic patient records.
- Assisting in the summarization of patient records and coding of patient data.
- Attending training sessions and events organized by the practice or relevant agencies.
