About the Role

Munich Re is seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Manager to join our team in Manchester, United Kingdom. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as maintaining high levels of financial control.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the inter-dependencies between financial systems, support the use of financial systems, and changes to financial systems in a controlled manner.
  2. Monitor and review ORCS and ensure appropriate controls are in place across Finance teams.
  3. Coordinate the monitoring and reporting of financial risks and control, linking with the Risk department and reporting to the Risk Committee where necessary.
  4. Act as a key point of contact for key projects impacting financial systems.
  5. Respond to ad-hoc queries and provide financial information as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in financial accounting and financial reporting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, US and UK GAAP accounting standards.
  • Experience working in a financial systems team.
  • Experience working in a finance risk and control team.

As a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), you will be an excellent communicator and problem-solver with a strong analytical mind. You will also have experience with financial systems and processes.
