Electronics Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Test Engineering discipline, you will be responsible for delivering EMC test engineering tasks and managing our UKAS accredited test facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct EMC test and facility management tasks to defence and aviation standards, including MIL-STD-461, DO-160, and EFA EMC Specification.
- Test and validate airborne products, including ESCAN Radar, Electronic Counter Measures, and Laser Designator.
- Work with internal and external customers to deliver test engineering tasks and ensure test readiness.
- Manage laboratory equipment and assets, ensuring they are maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
- Implement lean 5S workspace principles and administer facility capital and minor capital budget/spend.
- Write and peer review test reports and procedures, and take ownership of facility general procedures.
- Participate in facility audits, including internal quality, external AS9100D, and ISO17025.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electronics, Physics, or relevant subject.
- EMC test experience to defence and aviation standards, with commercial test experience considered favourably.
- Familiarity with EMC and RF measurement test equipment, and effective communication skills.
- Experience working with internal and external customers, and knowledge of Quality Management Systems and laboratory accreditation.
- Previous experience with 5S principles, new and upgraded EMC laboratory requirement planning, and commissioning.
