Job Description

We are seeking a Security Threat Analyst to join our team at NPL's UK Telecoms Lab (UKTL). The UKTL will interact at the intersection of standards bodies, academia, Ofcom, Communications Service Providers and telecommunication equipment vendors.

\

About the Role

\

You will be responsible for conducting security threat analyses to identify potential risks to the UK's critical networks. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective security solutions.

\

As a member of our small team of Security Testers, you will tackle some of the most interesting cyber problems with a meaningful and tangible impact on the national security of the UK. You will work closely with Lab Engineers who will setup and maintain the equipment on site as well as by Software Developers for building/maturing bespoke tooling and improving/scaling testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough security threat analyses to identify potential risks to critical networks\
  • Develop and implement effective security solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams\
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats and technologies\
  • Provide expert advice to senior government department officials, communications industry leaders and academic professionals\
  • Work closely with the UKTL Vulnerability Research team to consult on and feed into our testing\

About You

\

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Security Threat Analyst with a strong background in network security and vulnerability analysis. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, annual leave and flexible working options.
