Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School with a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) in Ashton-in-Makerfield. The SRB provides tailored educational and emotional support to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils who have faced difficulties in mainstream settings due to behavioural and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on both academic growth and emotional well-being.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
  • Work with students who struggle with anxiety and other emotional challenges, helping them to manage their emotions and engage in learning.
  • Build trust and strong rapport with students to encourage their personal growth and self-esteem.
  • Track students' progress, behaviour, and achievements for ongoing reports.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working with students who have SEMH needs.
  • Ability to build trust and strong rapport with students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
