Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Welding Specialist to join our team in Daventry. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of £38,000-£40,000 (dependent on experience). The successful candidate will be responsible for training and developing the welding team, designing and writing welding procedures, and providing technical guidance to internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and developing the welding team and new starters
  • Designing and writing of welding procedures and maintenance of records
  • Providing technical guidance and expertise to internal departments on weld procedures
  • Analysing high rate of weld repairs and giving guidance for improvement to reduce wastage
  • Responsible for total weld quality throughout the company for manufactured products
  • Identifying process changes/improvements
  • Training/coaching employees in accordance with welding procedures and assessment/appraisal of welders
  • Management of audit system related to weld quality & internal auditing
  • Support NPI welding and product manufacture procedure activity
  • Set, operate and maintain the MIG and TIG machines and related tools and equipment

The ideal candidate will have CSWIP certification, competent knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 15614-1 & 5817, and fabrication welding experience both MIG and TIG. They will also be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
