Deputy Ward Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Haematology nurse to take on the role of Deputy Ward Manager on the Haematology ward at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will assist the Ward Manager in providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward.
Main Duties:
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to gain insight into the Ward Manager role and be supported to develop the necessary skills and expertise to undertake the job. They will be responsible for assisting the Ward Manager in clinical and managerial leadership, problem-solving, demonstrating leadership, and supporting junior team members and students.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with experience in haematology/oncology. They will have excellent communication skills, be able to maintain and contribute to the development of standards of practice, conduct or decision making in conjunction with team leaders/ward manager/unit co-ordinator, and have the ability to proactively contribute to the education of learners and non-registered and less experienced staff.
