Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

Are you a skilled Platform Engineer looking to make a real impact on the UK economy? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Inspire People, a leading partner of the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).

About the Role

We are on a mission to build a new cutting-edge developer platform in AWS and migrate existing services from GOV.UK PasS. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our Internet services are hosted on the most performant, secure, and feature-rich platform to meet the developer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build reliable and well-tested infrastructure on top of cloud computing systems
  • Develop and implement Docker images through containerization
  • Work with development teams to give them the tools they need, including application performance monitoring, exception, log, and metrics aggregation, dashboards, and declarative CI/CD pipelines
  • Evangelize product teams about service-level indicators, objectives, and error budgets, and negotiate them
Requirements
  • Cloud experience with either Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to build code-defined, reliable, and well-tested infrastructure on top of cloud computing systems
  • Experience and fluency in one or more programming languages, writing clean and effective code
  • Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems
