Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is a pioneer in promoting diversity and equality among our workforce.

We strive to create a truly inclusive environment where every employee feels valued and empowered to perform at their best. Our commitment to diversity is reflected in our welcoming approach to applications from all walks of life.

We are dedicated to making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process to support candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodiversity.

Our Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan outlines our vision for delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Early Pregnancy Support Centre

Part-time Staff Nurse or Midwife Position

We are seeking an exceptional nurse or midwife to join our team in providing compassionate care to women experiencing difficulties in the first trimester of pregnancy. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a nurse-led unit, where you will have the autonomy to practice extended roles and take on leadership responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake training in nurse consent and lead the nursing team in coordinating multidisciplinary discussions on complex early pregnancy cases. Experience in a nurse-led early pregnancy service is highly desirable, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to women experiencing difficulties in the first trimester of pregnancy.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and make decisions on complex cases.
  • Take on leadership responsibilities, including leading the nursing team and implementing care plans.
  • Undertake training in nurse consent and other relevant areas.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £43,041 - £59,076 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), based on experience.
  • A supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • The opportunity to work in a nurse-led unit and take on extended roles.
  • Training and development opportunities, including training in nurse consent.

How to Apply:

For further information or to arrange an informal visit, please contact Lucy Tierney or Lisa Starrs, Centre Manager PSC.

Please note that this post requires membership of the PVG Scheme, and you will be required to apply for a PVG Scheme membership before commencing employment. The use of the term 'Senior' or 'Junior' in this post refers to the level of experience and responsibility required, not age.
