Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team in Wakefield, UK. As a dynamic and growing business, we offer a supportive environment for career advancement.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecology, with experience in protected species surveys, mitigation projects, and report writing. They will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking ecological fieldwork, advising clients on survey requirements, and developing high-quality reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and undertaking protected species surveys and mitigation projects
  • Advising clients on constraints and survey requirements
  • Report writing and development of mitigation measures
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and third-party stakeholders

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Ecology or a related subject
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant work experience
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
  • Protected species licence (Bat Survey Level 2 or above)

Salary and Benefits:

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role also includes TOIL, flexible working hours, annual leave, and enhanced maternity pay.
