We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our award-winning Energy team in Alness, Inverness. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading commercial aspects of projects and maintaining regular liaison with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, focusing on continuous improvement and development.
- Conduct monthly project reviews to analyze performance and take appropriate action.
- Attend executive team reviews to present business performance and plans.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies for projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the development and training of commercial practitioners, including mentorship and supervision.
- Maximize cash position through effective WIP control, cash flow management, and improvement plans.
- Collaborate with the Project Director and Estimating Manager to review contractual obligations and commercial risks.
- Negotiate with clients to minimize risk and ensure effective contract management.
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent qualification.
- Substantial experience in commercial roles within the civil engineering and construction industry.
- Expert knowledge of standard forms of contract, such as NEC and Standard Methods of Measurement.
- Understanding of programming techniques and project controls.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
