About the Role

The Technical Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Technical Director and the wider business in the execution of construction projects. This includes providing ongoing support and timely delivery of accurate architectural and technical information.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the Technical Director in managerial issues and provide relevant reporting where required.
  2. Ensure regular Design Team Meetings occur with relevant consultants at early stages of development.
  3. Oversee the production of working drawings and detail information, ensuring it is complete, coherent, accurate, and available on time.
  4. Provide technical support during land buying, planning, sales, construction, and post-construction.
  5. Assess planning information for obvious Building Regulation requirements.
  6. Agree programmes, packages, detail packages, and superstructures before final issue.
  7. Ensure consultants are briefed on required distribution of drawing information and key dates to meet procurement requirements.
  8. Ensure NHBC approval is obtained, and any conditions are cleared promptly to avoid delays to completions.
Requirements
  1. Experience of working as a Technical Manager/Senior position within a technical function for a volume housebuilder.
  2. A track record for effectively managing a high-performing team.
Qualifications and Training
  1. HNC/HND in a building-related topic.
  2. CSCS card or equivalent.
  3. Current full UK driving licence.

  1. Strong communication, listening, and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  2. Methodical, conscientious, organized, and works to deliver high standards.
  3. Ability to recognize problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner.
  4. Ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  6. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve and delegate effectively.
  8. Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Working Conditions

Office-based role with regular travel to development sites and for meetings. Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked.
