Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Highway Transportation Strategist to join our team at Matchtech. As a Highway Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective direction, leadership, management, and guidance in various aspects of professional, planning, and development services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation and highway strategies, with a strong understanding of transport modelling and strategic highway development. You will also be knowledgeable about sustainable and active travel development, as well as willing to work flexible hours, including out-of-hours and variable weather conditions.

About the Role

  • You will act as the client for transport in strategic investment development teams for all modes of transport, including road, rail, water, and air.
  • You will assist the Head of Highways, Strategy & Design in managing services that contribute to community sustainability and the local physical environment.
  • You will champion Health, Safety, and Environment through continuous improvement and performance management.
  • You will undertake out-of-hours duties, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement effective transportation strategies that align with business objectives.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support.
  3. Analyse data and information to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  4. Communicate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in transportation and highway strategies.
  • Strong understanding of transport modelling and strategic highway development.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and active travel development.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including out-of-hours and variable weather conditions.
