Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Line Up Aviation. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of concept designs, including supporting analysis, with a keen awareness of manufacturing methodologies and a focus on cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of concept designs, including supporting analysis, with a focus on manufacturing methodologies and cost.
  • Conduct detailed design work and process engineering changes.
  • Work as part of the design team to develop new products and assembly tooling, including all drawings and associated project documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain design standards and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Support the development of project schedules and milestones, and ensure timely completion of projects.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design software, including SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design problems and develop creative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
