Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £42,000, with opportunities for earnings up to £50,000 + company vehicle, a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension plan, health programs, and attendance bonuses, as well as a generous holiday allowance (up to 25 days plus bank holidays) and sick pay.

The role also comes with a competitive on-call payment scheme and an engineering commission scheme with the potential for earnings up to 10%.

Job Description

As a Fire Alarm Engineer - System Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for servicing and troubleshooting fire detection equipment, including conventional, addressable, and wireless systems, in various commercial settings.

You will manage reactive work on fire alarm systems, utilizing your knowledge of major brands of panels, including Gent and Vesda, along with app-based systems.

Additionally, you will conduct maintenance of emergency lighting and work with dual-com monitoring systems to ensure compliance with all NSI codes of practice and current industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Service and troubleshoot fire detection equipment, including conventional, addressable, and wireless systems.
  2. Manage reactive work on fire alarm systems in various commercial settings.
  3. Utilize knowledge of major brands of panels, including Gent and Vesda, along with app-based systems.
  4. Conduct maintenance of emergency lighting and work with dual-com monitoring systems.
  5. Ensure compliance with all NSI codes of practice and current industry standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Experience as a Service Engineer in Fire or Fire and Security.
  2. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and excellent time-management abilities.
  3. A willingness to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks.

You will also require:

  1. Proven experience with fire detection systems and security technologies.
  2. Knowledge of access control systems, door entry systems, and CCTV (both IP & analogue), which is advantageous.
  3. Familiarity with various communication devices and related industry standards.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a rapidly growing company in the fire detection and security systems industry.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in fire detection and will be able to work effectively in a commercial setting.

A full UK driving license is required, as the role involves travel to various sites.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, with a 1 in 6 weeks on-call rotation. Additional paid overtime applies during on-call hours.

NSSA Security Screening is a requirement for this role.
