Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus
Location: Colchester - Hybrid
Purpose of Role:We are seeking a skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Colchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting specialist commercial lines, including property, liability, and financial lines, on a new and existing business basis.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite commercial products in line with underwriting standards
- Work towards set targets each month, including profitability, conversion, and productivity
- Develop sales skills and underwriting strategy in collaboration with the wider teams
- Effectively negotiate with brokers and key stakeholders
- Underwrite larger, more complex risks that come through the branch
- Experience as an underwriter within commercial lines of business
- Logical and analytical thinking
- Strong development skills
- Ambitious and driven, with the ability to self-motivate and achieve results
- Ideal: Diploma CII qualified or exempt through relevant experience as defined by the FCA
