Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily functions of the logistics department, ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery.
- Formulate and execute logistics strategies that are in line with the organization's objectives.
- Assess and oversee fleet performance, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Optimize resource utilization, including vehicles, drivers, and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all drivers and vehicles, maintaining precise documentation.
- Engage with clients to guarantee satisfaction and address any concerns swiftly.
- Administer budgets, generate reports, and analyze data to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Guide, mentor, and cultivate the logistics team, promoting a culture of ongoing improvement.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a logistics management position.
- Possession of a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage is required.
- Membership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is highly preferred.
- A Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) license is beneficial but not compulsory.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a talent for managing and inspiring a team.
- A motivated individual with a strong interest in the logistics sector and a desire for career advancement.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: £38,000 - £42,000
- Working hours: Mon - Fri 8:00 - 18:00
- 28 days of annual leave including public holidays.
