Job Summary

The Power Process Engineer is a key member of the North America Engineering and Technology Center at ADM. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the utilities area, you will work to develop and apply utility improvement strategies and technology across all campus functions, with a primary focus on ADM's utility scale cogeneration facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support ADM safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement utility technology strategies and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide engineering leadership to resolve complex problems and improve system efficiency.
  • Support and drive progress on ADM's Sustainability and Conservation Goals.
  • Perform as Utilities SME on capital project development and design review teams.
  • Generate equipment specifications and research modern technologies for improvement.
  • Evaluate system/equipment failures and collaborate to determine root cause.
  • Perform field work and direct internal company and contracted personnel.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and management levels.
  • Provide technical support and training to others as needed.
  • Update and document FEL process and SOP/Guidelines.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong safety knowledge and understanding of Cogen/Boiler house and utility operations.
  • Ability to explain and drive compliance with SOP's and safe work practices.
  • Ability to explain and drive compliance with all jurisdictional code requirements.
  • Ability to recognize, assess, and provide opportunities for energy efficiency and optimization.
  • Full understanding of water treatment, combustion, electrical generation and distribution, cooling tower, and compressed air principles.
  • Ability to interpret flow diagrams and P&ID.
  • Preferred experience in ADM PE, FEL, and WAVE systems.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in an industrial setting with extreme temperatures, walking, standing, and climbing stairs and ladders.
