About the Role

The Design Authority (DA) within EDF is seeking a highly skilled Safety Case Engineer to join our team. As a Safety Case Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the development and maintenance of the nuclear safety case for the Sizewell C (SZC) project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the verification of the SZC Pre-Construction Safety Report (PCSR) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in resolving challenging issues related to Licence Condition 14 compliance.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines within the organisation, including Nuclear Analysis, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations.
  • Work with OEM designers/suppliers and internal/external regulators to ensure the safety case is robust and compliant.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in safety case development and maintenance, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand complex technical data and analysis, and to distil this information into clear and concise reports.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
