Job Summary

Lear, a global automotive technology leader, is seeking an experienced Automotive Engineering Specialist to join our team. As an Automotive Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate part revisions, managing data integrity, and ensuring timely reviews with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain every part revision in the engineering BOM module for the full program lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate part revision assignment to all necessary data elements.
  • Accurately maintain the master color, commodity/sub-commodity, complex commodity, and coding/attribute modules within the PMA Database Application.
  • Import customer part number/revision change data files into the SQL Database and make manual entries as necessary.
  • Customer part release alignment and data validation.
  • Organize regular timely reviews with customers using results provided by the PMA Database or Excel Application.
  • Identify and report order specification (SDV) file issues/queries to the customer and make manual amendments within the PMA database application.
  • Apply corrections to enable manual amendments to the SDV data in PMA database application.
  • Run part and color alignment checks and data validation utilizing the PMA database or Excel application tools.
  • Maintain the containment module by part revisions for pre-launch builds within the PMA Database Application.
  • Support the program, launch, change, and commercial departments in all aspects relating to the engineering BOM, part and color alignment, data validation, and change throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and using Databases.
  • Handling, manipulating, interrogating, analyzing, and reporting complex data using Excel or databases.
  • Managing multiple data packages simultaneously.
  • Data entry of substantial data packages.
  • Dealing with external companies/expediting external activities to meet project timescales.
  • Working to clearly defined timescales/delivering to project gateways.
  • Working with complex product structures in an engineering environment and determining valid build configurations for end products.
