Job Opportunity: Science Technician

The St Leonards Academy is seeking a skilled Science Technician to join our team on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science curriculum and ensuring the smooth operation of our Science department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities to support teaching and learning
  • Provide technical support and assistance to teaching staff and students, including liaison with external agencies
  • Take responsibility for health and safety within the Science faculty, ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations
  • Maintain good order of the Science department and its resources, ensuring they are well-organized and easily accessible

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a good general education and an understanding of the learning and support needs of young people. An understanding of health and safety and COSHH relating to Science would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
