At ASD, we are seeking a skilled Plater Welder to join our team in Leeds, West Yorkshire. As a leading metal stockholder and processing supplier, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality steel products and cost-efficient metal solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently conducting plating and Mig welding to draughtsman drawings, maintaining a safety and quality-first approach, including fabrication of structural steel and plate work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working safely and providing work that meets our quality standards (in line with ISO-9001).
  • Using MIG welding plant to produce fillet and butt welds.
  • Maintaining the condition of tools and equipment.
  • Reporting damage or malfunction of equipment promptly.
  • Experience in using air-arc to gouge/prepare weld areas.
  • Visually inspecting work.
  • Maintaining a tidy workplace in line with company 5S procedures.
  • Being flexible enough to work additional hours, dictated by business workload, as we endeavour to meet customer demand.
  • Motivated to develop self in other critical processes.
  • Reading from draughtsman drawings in 1st and 3rd angle projection.
  • Marking out/preparing plates and sections for manufacture.
  • Measuring and cutting beams to size using oxy-propane torch, to meet drawing specification.
  • Constructing final assembly to critical dimensions and tolerances.
