About the Role

GKN Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of aerospace components, and we're seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely delivery to production teams.
  • Operate forklifts, tow trains, and other equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory status, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are delivered to the right place at the right time.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Forklift license (B1 Counterbalance) and other relevant certifications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move materials as required.
