Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Sulzer Falkirk. As a key member of our Services team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to our valued customers, ensuring the efficient operation of their rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer interactions with professionalism and expertise, providing timely and effective solutions to equipment-related challenges.
  • Conduct fault-finding activities on a diverse range of rotating machinery, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform installation, removal, and replacement of high and low voltage AC motors and generators, as well as white metal bearings.
  • Execute equipment removal, installations, and commissioning activities, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Uphold the highest standards of on-site work quality, guaranteeing excellence in every aspect of our service delivery.
  • Conduct alignment checks using DTIs or Laser alignment equipment.

Requirements:

  • A recognized apprenticeship or possession of an Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Previous demonstrable experience of overhaul and repair of all types of electric motors and generators, including LV & HV, as well as other rotating equipment such as pumps and gearboxes.
  • Laser alignment, Baker testing, electrical winding, vibration analysis, and on-site balancing skills are desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in project requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring precision in every task.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, establishing trust and confidence with our clients.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
